Hello Friends, A Morning Reflection from Proverbs 27:1
“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” – Proverbs 27:1 (NIV)
The Word teaches us that if we are going to boast, let it be in the Lord. Boasting in ourselves or our plans is not pleasing to God. We have no control over what tomorrow may bring. Instead, we are called to humbly trust in Him, acknowledging His sovereignty and grace in our lives.
This truth resonates deeply with me. In 2019, I lost everything to a fire. At one moment, I had a stable life. The next moment, I was homeless and living in shelters. I was unsure of what tomorrow would bring. For five years, I struggled to rebuild, moving from place to place, dealing with hardships, and clinging to God’s promises.
Yet, through it all, God was faithful. He restored me in ways I never imagined. He placed me in a home. He gave me a life centered on sharing His Word. I’ve learned that while I don’t know what tomorrow holds, I do know who holds tomorrow.
The Bible reminds us:
- “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 10:17 (NIV)
- “You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” – James 4:14 (NIV)
- The rich man built bigger barns for his treasures. He was called a fool, for his life was required of him that very night (Luke 12:16-21).
Let this be a reminder to seek God’s will, trust Him with your future, and store up treasures in heaven.

A Prayer for Humility and Trust
Heavenly Father,
Help us to seek Your will above all else. Let us boast only in You. Apart from You, we can do nothing. Teach us to acknowledge Your kindness, justice, and righteousness, so that our lives may bring You delight. Grant us humility, for You give grace to the humble but oppose the proud.
Let us not speak presumptuously about tomorrow, for our lives are but a mist, here today and gone tomorrow. Instead, help us to trust in You and store our treasures in heaven. I praise You, thank You, and love You, Lord. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.
Friends, I invite you to reflect on these truths today. Share your thoughts and testimonies below. Let’s encourage one another to walk humbly and trust fully in the Lord.
