Proverbs 28:1

“The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.”

Supporting Scriptures and Biblical Principles

  1. Psalm 27:1 (KJV):
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
    • Principle: Righteousness in Christ removes fear and gives boldness because we are secure in God’s protection.
  2. Isaiah 32:17 (NIV):
“The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.”
    • Principle: True righteousness brings peace and confidence, replacing shame and guilt with clarity and trust.
  3. Romans 8:1 (NLT):
“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.”
    • Principle: In Christ, the guilt and shame of our past are erased, giving us freedom to walk boldly.

Personal Testimony: From Fear to Boldness in Christ

I lived in fear when I was trapped in substance abuse. Using marijuana and methamphetamine left me paranoid, scared, and running from shadows that weren’t there. Guilt and shame consumed me, and after nights of drinking, I would sit in fear, unable to recall what I had done in a blackout. I lived Proverbs 28:1—“The wicked flee when no one pursues.”

But God, in His grace, delivered me. Today, I walk boldly as a child of God, free from the chains of addiction and fear. My righteousness is not my own; it is a gift from Christ. In Him, I have found peace, clarity, and courage. I no longer fear what man can do to me because I trust in the One who holds my life securely in His hands. I now embody the second part of Proverbs 28:1—“The righteous are bold as a lion.”
