Proverb of the Day: Proverbs 2:6
“For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” (KJV)
Reflection:
Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are precious gifts from the Lord. As Christians, we affirm that Jesus Christ is our Savior. God the Father is our Creator. The Holy Spirit guides us in all things. Scripture reminds us to “seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). When we turn to the Lord, His wisdom illuminates our path. It grants us the understanding needed to navigate life’s challenges. It also helps us see opportunities clearly.
God’s eternal power and divine nature are evident in creation itself. Romans 1:20-22 warns us that those who deny Him are left with darkened hearts, their wisdom reduced to foolishness. In contrast, when we glorify and thank God, our hearts are filled with His light. Our minds are filled with His understanding. Let us humble ourselves, seek His guidance, and acknowledge that every good and perfect gift comes from Him.
Supporting Scriptures:
- Romans 1:20-22:
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools.” - James 1:5: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are the source of all wisdom and understanding. We come to You today, acknowledging our dependence on Your guidance. Forgive us for the times we have relied on our own understanding instead of Yours. Help us to glorify You in all we do and to seek Your wisdom daily. Fill our hearts with light and lead us into paths of righteousness. May Your Word shape our decisions and reflect Your glory to those around us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
