Proverbs 9:9 Reflection
Scripture:
“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” (Proverbs 9:9, KJV)
Reflection and Testimony:
When I was younger, I was extremely rebellious. Settling down to learn or understand anything seemed impossible. I struggled profoundly in school. Systems like the “No Child Left Behind Act” pushed me forward. However, I hadn’t truly learned anything. My reading and comprehension abilities were so limited. I often felt defeated. I was placed in remedial classes and left feeling incapable.
But then, everything changed. In 2002, I met Jesus. Though the fog of misunderstanding still lingered, something miraculous began to happen. I purchased the Bible on CD because I couldn’t read well, and as I listened to it, my life transformed. It felt as though God Himself was standing in the room, watching over me. As His Word entered my heart, I began to hear His voice. Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding started pouring in. A locked chamber in my mind opened suddenly. It unleashed the potential God had placed within me all along.
I devoured the Word of God, listening to the Bible over 1,000 times. That was just the beginning. I’ve never stopped seeking knowledge, particularly the spiritual and biblical understanding that flows directly from God. Through His grace, I overcame my limitations. I went on to college and earned two certificates. I became dominant in the digital media field.
This journey taught me that all true wisdom, knowledge, and understanding come from the Lord. Without Him, there is no real knowledge, and for that, I give Him all the glory.
Supporting Scriptures:
- Proverbs 2:6: “For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”
- James 1:5: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
- Psalm 119:105: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your infinite wisdom and the gift of understanding. Thank You for unlocking the potential You placed within me. Thank You for guiding me on this lifelong journey of learning and growth. I acknowledge that without You, I can do nothing and know nothing of true value. Continue to fill me with Your wisdom and help me apply it to bring glory to Your name. Let my testimony be a light for others who struggle, showing them that with You, all things are possible. May I never cease seeking Your knowledge and truth. May I use it to honor and serve You all my days. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
