Proverbs 20:24 (KJV):
“Man’s goings are of the Lord; how can a man then understand his own way?”
Teaching:
Throughout life, we encounter struggles, pain, and challenges that seem unfair, undeserved, and impossible to understand. We ask questions like, Why me? Why this path? But Proverbs 20:24 reminds us that our steps are directed by the Lord, even when we can’t comprehend the journey. God’s wisdom surpasses our understanding. His plan for our lives unfolds in ways that ultimately shape us into vessels of compassion. We are strengthened and given purpose.
Personal Testimony:
- A Purpose in Pain:
- I did not choose my spinal condition, mental struggles, or the abuse I endured. However, God has shown me that these experiences have equipped me with compassion and understanding for others who suffer. I see myself in their pain, and my heart is moved to support and encourage them, especially children.
- From Confusion to Clarity:
- As someone diagnosed with mental health conditions, I lived through seasons of confusion and despair. Yet, when I sought God, I heard His voice louder than all the negativity. God’s Word became my source of clarity and healing, breaking the chains that once bound me.
- Beauty in the Anointing:
- Despite my physical and mental struggles, the anointing of Jesus Christ has made me radiant. People are drawn to the light of Christ within me. It’s not because of who I am, but because of who He is.
Cross-Reference Scriptures:
- Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV): “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
- Romans 8:28 (KJV): “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
- Psalm 37:23-24 (KJV): “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.”

- Our trials and pain often prepare us to empathize with others and serve as vessels of hope and healing.
- Victory in Christ:
- God’s voice and His Word have the power to break through confusion and bring supernatural clarity, healing, and transformation.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for directing our steps, even when we cannot comprehend the path You have set before us. Forgive us for doubting Your plan and questioning Your wisdom. Lord, help us to trust in Your sovereignty. Help us to find peace in knowing that You are working all things for our good. Use our pain and struggles to shape us into vessels of compassion. Make us strong, so we may glorify You and serve others. Give us ears to hear Your voice above the noise and clarity to walk in Your ways. We surrender our goings to You, knowing that You alone can lead us to victory in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
