Proverbs Daily Reflection – January 21, 2025

Proverbs 21:24 (NIV)

“The proud and arrogant person—‘Mocker’ is his name—behaves with insolent fury.”

Reflection

Pride and arrogance blind us to wisdom, leading to actions that mock God and hurt ourselves and others. The “Mocker” resists correction, behaves recklessly, and often faces the consequences of their choices. But God’s grace offers redemption to the humble heart willing to surrender.

Personal Testimony:
I remember a time in my life when pride and arrogance ruled my decisions. I went against God, committing adultery for years, justifying my actions and fooling myself into believing I was righteous. I would go to church, take communion, and even claim that this adulterous relationship was blessed by God. My heart was hardened, and I couldn’t see the destruction I was bringing upon myself.

Eventually, my arrogance caught up with me. I discovered that the person I was with had betrayed me, and it broke my heart. That moment of anguish revealed the mockery I had made of God’s Word. It also showed the disregard I had for His will for my life. I had rebelled against His authority, ignored the warnings of others, and justified my sin. The pain and heartbreak I experienced were a direct result of my prideful and reckless behavior.

Thank God for my deliverance! Through His mercy, I’ve been able to reflect, repent, and embrace humility. This verse reminds me of the importance of surrendering pride, seeking God’s wisdom, and walking in His truth.

Prayer

Lord,
Thank You for Your grace and patience, even when I was blind to my sin. Forgive me for the times I mocked You through my arrogance and disobedience. Help me walk in humility, seeking Your wisdom and guidance in every decision. May I never forget the lessons You’ve taught me. May my story serve as a reminder of Your redeeming love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
