Proverbs 19:1 (KJV)
“Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.”

Reflection:
James Farmer was a champion of civil rights. He was a founder of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE). Farmer embodied integrity in the face of oppression. His commitment to nonviolent protest and equality speaks to the wisdom of Proverbs 19:1. Despite societal challenges and personal struggles, Farmer maintained unwavering integrity. He led peaceful sit-ins and freedom rides. These actions reshaped America’s moral compass.

This verse reminds us that material wealth or status means nothing without integrity. James Farmer’s life teaches us that true strength comes from standing firm in righteousness. This remains even when the world tempts us to compromise. In honoring Black history, we celebrate leaders like Farmer who walked in truth, leading others toward freedom and justice.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the examples of integrity You have given us through leaders like James Farmer. Help us to walk in truth and righteousness, standing firm in Your word even when the world challenges us. May we be peacemakers and advocates for justice, reflecting Your love in all we do.
